On March 29th, the government decided at a cabinet meeting to add four fields to the field of specific skills and aim to accept up to 820,000 people.

1.Increase in expected number of acceptances
The number of people expected to be accepted over the five years from April 2020 is set at a maximum of 820,000.

2. Expansion of target fields
In addition to the existing 12 fields, we will add the following 4 new fields.

・Car transportation industry
・Railway
·forestry
・Wood industry

3. Expansion of existing fields
We will add new work in the following three existing fields.

<Industrial product manufacturing field>
・Manufacture of paper cartons and cardboard boxes
・Concrete product manufacturing
・Ceramic product manufacturing
・Textile product manufacturing
·Sewing
・RPF manufacturing
・Printing/binding

<Shipbuilding/marine industry field>
・Various work necessary for shipbuilding and marine industry

<Food and beverage manufacturing industry>
Addition of business establishments that are approved for acceptance, and the production of prepared foods, etc. in the food departments of food supermarkets and general supermarkets will also be possible.
